Working Together With Families
At Home from Home Worthing, families are at the heart of everything we do. Since opening in 2015, our nursery has become an important part of the local community, with strong relationships built between children, parents and our team.
Our senior management team are there to welcome families each morning and evening, helping us get to know not only each child, but the people who are most important to them too. We encourage open communication, parental involvement and operate an open-door approach wherever possible.
Keeping You Involved Every Day
We believe parents should feel connected to their child’s nursery experience.
Baby & Toddler Pick-Up
Parents are welcomed into the main building at the end of the day, giving them the opportunity to speak with their child’s key person, hear about their day and meet other families.
Pre-School Pick-Up
Our Pre-School children are collected externally from the Coach House. This helps encourage independence and prepares them for the routines they will experience when moving on to primary school.
Parents as Part of the Learning Journey
Parents are encouraged to play an active role in their child’s learning and development. We regularly share updates about nursery plans, activities and learning opportunities, while our Parent Panel gives families the chance to share ideas, provide feedback and communicate directly with our senior team.
Communication also takes place through parent notice boards, whiteboards, conversations with staff and individual progress meetings.
Share Your Skills
We love welcoming parents into nursery to share their own interests, cultures and talents with the children.

More Than Just Nursery
Throughout the year, we bring families together through events and opportunities to celebrate important milestones.
These include:
Parent evenings twice a year
Pre-School Christmas celebrations
An end-of-year picnic for our school leavers
Individual progress meetings when required
Opportunities for parents to take part in nursery activities
Many of our children go on to attend local Worthing primary schools alongside friends they have made at Home from Home, helping make the transition to “big school” feel more familiar and positive.
